Rufibach rePROstat EF

Rufibach rePROstat was founded as Einzelfirma on February 1, 2012. It specializes in planning and analysis of mainly biomedical studies and courses in biostatistics. Expertise in biostatistics was gained through over 250 consulting projects at the Universities of Bern and Zurich, the Swiss Group for Applied Cancer Research, by large consulting projects for biotech companies such as Satoris (Menlo Park, CA. Has been bought by Myriad RBM in 2011.) or Myriad RBM (Austin, TX) and for Swiss Federal Agencies such as the Swiss Federal Office of Public Health (Zurich).

Areas of expertise

- Planning and sample size computation for observational and clinical studies.
- Input into study protocols.
- Data analysis using standard biostatistical methods and a variety of more involved approaches, such as all kinds of regression models, survival analysis incl. competing risk, diagnostic tests, meta analysis, analysis of agreement, ...
- Besides 16 publications in statistical journals such as Annals of Statistics, JRSS-B, Bernoulli, Biometrics, Biometrical Journal, or International Journal of Biostatistics, I have co-authored medical publications in the fields of oncology, radiology, gynaecology, palliative care, surgery, urology, rheumatology, neurology, biology, otolaryngology, cardiology, pharmacology, proteomics, angiology, or psychiatry.

Training

I have ample experience in giving trainings and courses on a wide range of topics. See the teaching page for a documentation of my teaching experience. I also offer courses in R and weaving it with LaTeX using Sweave.

Reproducibility and software

If it is agreed that I write a formal report for a data analysis, I adhere to the priniciples of REproducible PROfessional STATistical research. My preferred software to achieve reproducible research is R, typically via (S)weaving it with LaTeX. I have also experience in using SAS and SPSS.
